Hay Day Tips
Because you cannot play golf at night, golfers have to find something else to do after hours. One pastime is playing a great strategy game called Hay Day. Here a some tips for Hay Day devotees.
Town Access
I love the train town, it is a great way to do Derby tasks very quickly.
During the quiet day after the Derby has finished, I make sure that my Town Hall is full of visitors who have done all their tasks. The easiest way for a visitor to do all their tasks is to pick them up with the personal train, which means that they only have one task. Also if possible, I try to pick up about the same number of visitors of each type (e.g. Cowboy or Strong Man).
Having done this preparation, I can do the standard train task (Complete 23 visitors) immediately. If I wanted to, and it was available, I could pick up a second standard train task, and it could be finished very quickly, as I have 19 done immediately, and only 4 left.
Quite often I can also do quickly the single person task e.g. 9 Cowboys, because I already have 5 o 6 of them, and I can often pick up the rest from the Personal train.
The single building task e.g. 16 Diners, cannot be done as quickly, but generally can be finished in about 12 hours. When I take it, I normally have about 6 buildings done, so I just need 10. With this task, you only need to do the relevant building task from a visitor, so if the visitor comes in on the big train, you can pick them up and finish them quickly.
It is much easier to do all this if you have as big as possible town hall, personal train, and large train. For example, my town hall is 42, my big train has 14, and my personal train has 10. It also helps to have the personal train come as often as possible, mine comes in about 1 hour 20 minutes.
I am sorry about all the detail, but the basic idea is by filling up your town hall with completed visitors you can do the derby tasks very quickly. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Optimizing Production Resources
The two choke points for production resources are the Sugar Mill and the Dairy. The reason for this is that these two resources are used in the many of the products. For example, the Sugar Mill is used in 10 products, and the Dairy is used in 9 products. The other resources are used in 6 or less products. Accordingly, if you have a goal of playing the game effectively, it is important to optimize these resources. Below I describe how I do this, but one of the great aspects of Hay Day is that it is a very complex game, there are almost 50 buildings and about 320 products, so there are many ways to optimize your production resources, here I am just describing one.
Of course, there are many other goals you can have in playing the game, such as helping other people, spending time immersed in the game, shopping or just having fun. However, if one of your goals is to playing effectively, then you can consider ways to optimize your production resources, particularly the sugar mill and the diary.
Optimizing the Sugar Mill
The most obvious way to optimize the sugar mill is to the buy two sugar mills as soon as possible. As well, as soon as you can you should use diamonds to have nine slots for the two mills. The allows you to improve the utilization of both mills. The next thing is to keep as a large store of the sugar products, as this means you have enough to keep up with demands of Truck and Boat tasks. I keep 27 white sugars, 27 brown sugars and 12 syrups. Keep in mind my barn has 3,100 spaces, so can afford to roughly three times as many products as a person who only has 1,000 spaces.
Optimizing the Dairy
Unfortunately you can only have one dairy, how you can buy nine slots for the dairy, and it is best to do that as soon as possible. I keep 27 creams, 27 butters and 12 feta cheeses. I used to keep 20 cheeses (the cow milk based cheese), but have found a way of storing many more than that. Assume I finish all my Derby tasks two days early, so there are three days till the next Derby. I can hire Ernest for three days, and given I have no more tasks to do I can ask Ernest to do as many cheeses as possible in the three days before the next Darby starts. A cheese take 51 minutes, and 3 days is 4,320 minutes so Ernest can make 84 cheeses. Ernest has his own store, so these 84 cheeses do not take up any space in my barn. On average I seem to use about 20 cheeses per Derby so in three days, Ernest can make enough cheeses for four Darbies, or one month of playing time. Ernest has 120 spare paces, so there are 36 other spaces. I normally get Ernest to also do 12 Syrups and 24 white sugars, which are also used in many products.
Now Ernest will require 252 milks to make the 84 cheese, but that is where Rose comes in (Note Ernest and Rose are on the top of the hill above your farm). I get Rose to make 120 milks, and she will continue to do that, so basically, apart from providing enough corn and soy bean for Rose, I do not have to do anything for the three days to produce the 84 cheeses. Rose has here own store, so the 120 milks do not take up any space in my barn.
